Andy Harris

Andy Harris was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and studied medicine at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. After graduation, he went on to practice medicine there for nearly 30 years and has also practiced at Memorial Hospital in Easton and the Peninsula Regional Medical Center on the Eastern Shore. Harris has also worked with the Medical Corps and cared for active duty personnel, veterans and returning prisoners of war during Operation Desert Shield.
Harris first ran for Maryland State Senate and was elected in 1998. He began his sixth term as U.S. Congressman for the first district, which encompasses Marylanders on the Delmarva Peninsula, in 2021.
