OCEAN PINES, Md.- The Ocean Pines Elections Committee has announced the results of the 2025 Board of Directors candidate draw, determining the ballot order for this year’s election.
Officials say, that using a set of playing cards to randomize the order, the committee determined both how candidates will appear on the ballot and the order in which they will be seated during the upcoming election forum.
The drawing resulted in the following order:
- Stuart Lakernick
- Monica Rakowski
- Steve Jacobs
- Amy Peck
Three of the seven volunteer board seats are open in this election cycle—those currently held by Lakernick, Rakowski, and Jacobs. The Ocean Pines Board of Directors serves as the governing body for the community.
The deadline to file as a candidate has been extended to June 20 to allow more candidates to enter the race, as permitted by the association's bylaws. According to the committee, any new candidates will be added to the ballot in the order their applications are submitted.
The Elections Committee will announce the date and time of the candidate forum after any additional candidates are verified.
